In Hindu scriptures, Vayu is one of the paanch tatvas (five elements) and is revered as the deity of breath or Wind. Vayu is also considered the spiritual father of the important heroes Hanuman and Bheem, giving the name a powerful and noble connection. The name Vayu itself means "wind" or "air."
